An incomplete continental 'Augenfibel' or Eye brooch of Iron Age to Roman date (AD 25-75). At the head of the bow is an integrally cast spring of which three coils survive to the left hand side of the head, the remainder now missing due to old breaks. Above the spring coil is an integrally cast forwards facing hook that extends onto the head of the brooch and terminates with a triangular point. An incomplete bead, probably dating to the Late Iron Age to Early Roman period c. 1 - 200 AD . The surviving fragment is of a dark blue and red glass and comprises of roughly one third of the bead. Whirl decoration exists on the outer of the bead in a style seen on beads of La Tene type, although the colours used of red and blue are unusual. The approximate diameter of the bead is c 22.2mm. An incomplete cast copper alloy Late Iron Age to Early Roman one-piece sprung brooch dating to the first century AD. The brooch is a La Tene III Nauheim derivative type, the spring consists of three coils, and there is a thin, flat bow. The foot and catchplate are missing. A copper-alloy probable escutcheon (handle attachment) from an Iron Age vessel, c. 100 BC - AD 43. The escutcheon comprises a moulded and curved front, with a triangular attachment fitting on the reverse, perforated by a single centrally-placed hole. The front of the object is decorated with a raised central rib, concave in shape, and outlined by deep grooves. This central shape is surrounded by four raised, moulded knops (one each at the top, bottom, and either side). Length: 32.95mm, width: 32.13mm, thickness: 18.5mm1, weight: 15.37g. Cf.
