Post medieval copper alloy halfpenny of George II (1727-1760), probably young bust, date unclear, 1729-1739 AD, Spink 3717.
The coin has been pierced near the edge near 12 o'clock on the obverse, presumably 6 o'clock on reverse. It has also been bent in an S-shape with one edge bent forward and the opposite edge bent back. Coins modified in thgis way are often refered to as love tokens. It is unusual to see a copper alloy coin treated in this way and it is also slightly later than the main period of popularity for modifying coins in this way.
