A complete silver-washed copper alloy coin of Charles I (AD 1625-49), probably a contemporary copy. There is no legible inscription, though the remains of the bust and the reverse shield resemble those found on Caroline coinage. The coin is thicker than the average silver issue of the time.
Diameter: 29.82mm, weight: 7.08g. Cf. NCL-771090.

Post Medieval silver penny of Charles I dating to 1632 to 1640. Group D or E. Minted at London. North 2270 or 2272.
The coin has been pieced at 2 o'clock on the obverse, 5 o'clock on reverse, near the edge with a circular hole drilled from both sides (raised metal both faces). The position on the obvese avoids the kings head. The coin is also bent but it is not clear if this is deliberate.
