A complete gold penannular ring dating from the Middle to Late Bronze Age (c.1300-800 BC). The ring is in the shape of an oval-sectioned loop and has an oval cross-section with slightly flattened inner and outer faces. One corner adjacent to the terminal is slightly indented but is otherwise plain and undecorated. The gap between the terminals is less than 0.5mm. Dimensions: The penannular ring is 14.5mm by 13.1mm externally. It is 4.2mm wide and 3.2mm thick and the ring weighs 5.32 grams. A gold-plated copper alloy penannular 'lock ring' of Late Bronze Age date. The ring consists of a central core in copper alloy covered by sheets of gold: one on the front and the back of the ring and one on the inner side. This inner sheet is now detached from the core and irregularly folded, whilst the edges of the first sheet on one side are lifted. Treasure case 2018 T615: declared Treasure, undergoing valuation Description: A complete gold penannular ring dating to the period 1150 to 800 BC. The ring is C-shaped in plan with a gap of 2.4 mm between the flat ends and oval in cross-section. It is decorated with alternating thin stripes of a contrasting bright gold and paler silver metal. The silver has been preferentially attacked in the soil and is slightly pitted. There is some slight damage to the inner sides of the flat ends. Treasure case 2018 T14: declared Treasure, undergoing valuation Description: A complete gold bi-partite penannular ring of Middle to Late Bronze Age date (1300 - 750 BC). The ring is composed of two bands of gold, stacked one on top of the other, and apparently soldered together. Each band is sub-circular (oval) in cross-section and the ring is sub-circular (oval) when viewed in plan. The terminals are flat and do not meet. There is no further decoration.
