Incomplete cast copper alloy keyhole escutcheon mount of probably 18th to 19t century date. The escutcheon is incomplete with a moulded front and flat back, apart from a recessed area behind the thickest section. The outer edge follows the design. The remaining section has a lion standing holding a shield in the traditional position for a heraldic supporter (rampant). The lion is facing but the features are worn, the long strips of the mane are clearly visible. There is a integral circular loop on the lions back above the tail for a rivet attachment.
