40 Lead alloy (or highly leaded copper alloy) fragments of at least 5 no. 36 style Mills Grenades three at least of which date to 1940 and are probably related to WWII activity although a later use cannot be ruled out. The collection is made up of 5 filler caps which are circular in shape with the outer edge having the screw thread and one side having a type of metal disk with a screw-threaded hole in the middle to attach it to a rifle. Lead alloy piece of uncertain use modelled on a die stamp for a livery button of probably 19th cnetury date. The piece is circular with a shaped front, rough sides and smoothed back where the metal has cooled with a slightly concave centre. There is a square piercing through it at 12 o'clock near the rim. The front is concave from the rim with a raised circle with slightly rounded edges 22.4 mm in diameter taking up the centre. A modern lead-alloy disc probably from a four-disc type cloth seal issued by Weres, Matravers & Fox of Wellington, Somerset. One disc survives, with cracks on the inner surface, and with stubs of strips for attachment at opposing ends. The outer surface bears a design stamped in low relief of a shield which at its base breaks through an outer band within which the inscription: WERES MATRAVERS & FOX WELLINGTON. A broken lead Russian bale seal dating to 1847. The seal is circular with a hole for the cord running from side top to bototm. Breaks at the top and bottom have removed baout a quarter of the seal. One side has the inscription in five lines and reads: *[...]PX.[....]/ NYДEAB/ 2 COPTЂ /A.P/ 1847. Three fragments of a modern lead alloy incomplete statue. It is hollow with a mix of old and recent breaks. The largest fragment consist of a man's head and torso and there is a seperate leg fragment. There is also a small unidentifiable fragment of the statue. The statue wears a Phrygian cap with striped neck cover and a cloak garment with long shoulder caps trailing to his elbows.
