A heavily worn Post-Medieval milled silver sixpence sized coin consistent with sixpences between AD 1674 and AD 1787. This coin has lost all its original detail due to smoothing or polishing with one side being countermarked and has a slight 's' shaped profile. The counter marks on the central edge are 'P' and a 'cross patee', with a further countermark of a 'D' at the bottom of the coin stamped at 180 degree angle to the other marks. There are also deep scratches to the coin, two sets on the countermarked side and one on the reverse, potentially to check that the coin was complete…
