Worn and abraded Roman tile sherd with very large flint inclusion dating to AD 40-410. The sherd is bright orange with a paler orange to grey core and c.10% or less fine sand temper. To one corner is an inclusion of flint 13.2 by 9/9mm across. The flint is mid grey with some evidence of fire daamge, presuambly from firing. The tile is 15. 6mm thick and weighs 27.1g.

There are combed patterns on the outer face, at least four parallel grooves in one direction with at least three running obliquely to meet them. Two fragments of Roman tile. One is from a flue tile and the other could either be floor or roof tile. The flue tile has combed, incised lines on the upper surface, and weighs 31.67g. Small fragment of a roofing tile of probable Roman date. The curve of the fragment suggests that it comes from an imbrex tile. The surface of either side of the tile is orange in colour and it has a light grey inner core. This fragment was recorded as it was found near to a shard of black burnished ware pottery (SOM-1B2F36), suggesting a likely Roman date. Length: 37.4mm, Width: 32.6mm, Thickness: 12mm. Weight: 17.7g

Curved fragment probably of a Roman roofing tile. The curvature suggests it was part of an imbrex tile. It has a coarse fabric with large, sparse flint calcarious inclusions.
