A small flint core probably of Mesolithic date to Early Neolithic date (c. 8000 - 3300 BC). The object is made from a dark-grey/dark-brown translucent flint. The surface of the flint is very clear and is not covered by any white patina associated with recortication. However, there is an area of cortex remaining on the flint. A complete copper alloy thimble dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1650-1750). It is conical in shape with a domed top and a series of small circular indentations about the outside.  This is similar in style to some of the Dutch thimbles from this period. From about 1650, Dutch thimbles were made in one piece, and this technology was brought to England when John Lofting, a Dutch immigrant, was granted an English patent for a thimble-making machine in 1693. A Post Medieval Belgian, Antwerp issued copper-alloy square 3.3g coinweight for a half-ryal coin dating to c.1579-1603. Square and flat. One face depicts a stylised ship with a rose in the bottom centre and the letter R to top right. (Withers 2011 : 25) The reverse depicts the hand of Antwerp with the letters L / M either side (unknown makers initials) all within a wreath. A late Medieval cast copper-alloy annular buckle with an incomplete pin dating to c.1250-1450. Flattened circular frame, with a pin simply wrapped around and able to traverse completely around it. The pin is missing the tip and is formed from flat copper-alloy strip with the reverse having 'turned up' sides to increase rigidity strength. Both buckle and pin display an even green patina. A complete Post Medieval lead cap which would seal a powder carrier, dating to c. AD 1600-1700. The cap had been squashed resulting in significant deformation and was straightened by the finder before photographing.
