A complete cast copper alloy D-shaped buckle dating to the Post Medieval period c.AD1500-1650. The pin is missing. The buckle frame has a vertical axis bar and then a broadly D-shaped frame having a curved outer edge. This outer edge is splayed the inner edge being higher than the outer. this angled edge has deeply incised decoration creating a series of wavey patterns. The axis bar is recessed and slightly offset with knops projecting from its tips away from the frame. The buckle has a glossy medium green patina. An incomplete cast copper-alloy spherical animal bell (crotal) of Post-medieval date (AD 1500-1650). It is missing one half of its lower hemisphere. The bell comprises two hemispherical domes with a raised circumferential join. The upper hemisphere has two circular sound holes (c.5.3mm diameter) with a cast integral rectangular loop projecting from the top between them. A complete Post Medieval lead palm guard, c.AD 1600-1900. The palm guard is broadly oval in plan and D-shaped cross section; all the edges are uneven. The obverse face is slightly convex and has the in-print of woven cloth, possibly from where is pressed against the users glove, and in centre is a slight circular depression of the type commonly found on the surface of palm guards. A fragment from a copper alloy clapper bell, dating to the late Medieval to Post-Medieval period. The fragment comes from the lower everted rim of the bell. Two parallel moulded raised bands, spaced c. 3mm apart, can be seen to run parallel to the bottom edge, the lowest band being part of the bell's lower rim. The interior of the fragment, is smooth and undecorated. The metal has a dark brown patina with the appearance of pewter, gunmetal or 'bell bronze', indicating a high tin content. An incomplete copper-alloy buckle of Post-Medieval date, c. AD 1720 - 1790. The buckle is a sub-rectangular knee buckle with a drilled frame to house a separate chape. The frame is rectangular in cross section and has curved corners. The buckle would originally had a chape with a projecting double spiked tongue but this is missing. The metal has a dark grey patina with patches of brown rust where the chape would have been. The buckle is 21.45mm long, 14.68mm wide, 1.53mm thick and weighs 1.05 grams. The cloth seal consists of the remains of two circular discs joined together by a connecting strip, which is now lost, and a rivet that was pushed through the hole in one disc from the other disc and stamped flat.
