Incomplete medieval copper-alloy harness mount, terminating in a worn break at one end. It is a straight rectangular bar, triangular or sub-triangular in cross-section for the most part, plano-convex in cross-section at the unbroken end and flat on the reverse all the way along. There is a circular perforation at the unbroken end, adjacent to a slightly raised transverse ridge separating this end from the triangular cross-sectioned main part. Medieval gilt copper alloy lozengiform harness mount for the suspension of a pendant. The front is convex and there is an integral, sub-circular sectioned 7mm-long rivet on the hollow reverse. At the base there is a transverse collar above the suspension loop which bifurcates and is folded onto the reverse around an iron spindle. Much of the gilding has been lost but there is no evidence of any other form of decoration. Weight 6.13g. Height 31mm. Width 24.2mm. Mid 12th - mid 13th century.

Medieval copper alloy harness mount for the suspension of a pendant. The upper part is rounded and gently domed, with an integral sub-square-sectioned attachment spike on the reverse. The lower part, bifurcated, widened and folded back through 180 degrees, would have held a spindle within the fold, from which the pendant would have swung. No trace of metal coating has survived. A common type cf. NMS-E59B00, KENT-183288, Read 2016 no. 404. Weight 2.62g. Height 21.7mm. Width 12.5mm. Mid 12th - 13th century.
