CORONER'S REPORT Description of find: The coins, originally totaling at least five in number, had been stacked one on top of the other. At some time extreme heat has caused them to fuse together, this process rendering all details apart from one side of a fragmentary coin illegible. This one legible face is a small cross pattee type, presumably a reverse, of early tenth century date. The lettering is crude and this coin would seem to be a contemporary imitation from the Danelaw.
