Roman copper alloy bow of Developed T-shaped type of T108 and of 2nd century AD date. The brooch is near-complete, missing the end of the pin (with a length of 45.5mm, a depth of 18.5mm and a weight of 12.4g). One of three fragments of a Late Bronze Age copper-alloy leaf-shaped sword. The morphology indicates that the sword is of Ewart Park Type, a widespread type which belongs to the Ewart Park Metalworking Assemblage (c. 1000-800 BC) (Needham 1996; Needham et al. 1997). This is the third fragment, representing the lower blade- other fragments are recorded as NMGW-A49E88 and NMGW-A4A891. A complete forged copper alloy spiral finger ring of probable Iron Age to Roman date (c. 200BC-AD 410). The ring is of Guiraud Type 7 (Guiraud 1989, 195-6). The ring is made from a forged bar of copper alloy 4.3- 4.8mm diameter wrapped around to form a ring, completing two full turns. The section of the bar is circular. Introduction (AG & CG) A Late Bronze Age hoard of seven bronze artefacts (eleven fragments), was discovered by Mr Mark Herman on 8th September 2019 while metal-detecting on a field under arable in Pendoylan Community, Vale of Glamorgan.
