An incomplete cast copper alloy pin likely of Early Medieval date (c. AD 700-900). The pin has a 14.1mm long, 11.15mm wide, 1.1mm thick flat shield shaped head- a flat end with sides tapers slightly down 9.7mm to rounded corners, from which the sides turn in sharply to meet the top of the shank. The buckle has a small diameter and has broken at the hoop either side of the bezel. The bezel is thicker at the rear, and depicts a face, possibly anthropomorphic.
