Silver bezel of a finger ring containing an orangey-red, cornelian, intaglio. The edge of the bezel is decorated by a line of triangles running round its bottom edge and the back by an engraved floral pattern. The intaglio depicts a winged male figure, probably Cupid, a large bunch of grapes and an animal, probably a hare. The intaglio would appear to be Roman, depicting Cupid, a bunch of grapes and a hare. Silver gilt decorative roundel which once adorned the front of a dress-hook loop, to the back of which are soldered three sections of wire (which when complete formed the trefoil loop for the hook). The slightly domed silver gilt boss has a border of 'cable-twist' filigree wire, wound in a spiral to create two strands. Within this, there are five cable-twist 'filigree' wire circlets, and a small granulated pellet in the interspace. Metal content: silver, 96%; copper, 4%.

The mount is complete and was attached by two perforated and rounded side lugs (6.0mm long, 6.6mm wide and 1.8mm thick), and secured by separate rivets through carefully drilled holes (2.2mm diameter). The finger-ring is intact and of 'fede' type. The bezel comprises a heart, flanked on each side by a four-petalled flower, symbolising the heart sprouting flowers. Above the heart is a three-pronged crown containing four circular perforations. The flowers, hoop and top of the heart have been enhanced with short incised lines. The edges and corners of the terminal are sub-rounded. The bracelet is twisted, giving the body of the bracelet a (concave-sided) lozenge-shaped profile. Complete silver Anglo-Saxon hooked tag. Description of find The tag has a flat, circular plate from which extends the complete integral hook, which tapers and curves back to the rear of the object. A distal fragment of a knapped and pressure flaked knife likely dating to the Early Bronze age. The flake is made from a distal portion of a cortical flake of semi translucent unpatinated grey flint. The dorsal surface bears patches of cortex and invasive pressure flaking removal scars. The ventral surface blade edges have also been retouched to form the point and even, carefully shaped sides. A plain penannular gold 'lock-ring' with biconical section and a now hollow interior, which has been crumpled and distorted in the ground. Ten copper halfpence of which seven certainly of William III (1694-1701) and the others probably the same reign. Two are dated 1698 and 1699; remaining dates illegible. All of these coins show a good deal of circulation wear and it is likely that the group was lost or deposited during the middle or later years of the eighteenth century.
