Incomplete cast copper alloy purse bar. The perforated shield-shaped central block is decorated with a lattice pattern on one side and a rudimentary scallop-shell pattern on the other. The side bars are circular in section and gripped by stylised animals' heads at their junction with the central block. The upper surface and sides of the side bars are decorated with a lattice pattern. Microscopic observation suggests that the decorative motifs on both the central block and the side bars are inlaid with niello.
