A near complete cast copper alloy awl or other leatherworking tool, likely of later Bronze Age date (c. 1250-700BC), but potentially dating from any time between the Bronze Age and the Medieval period (c. 1250BC-AD 1500).  The awl is essentially complete barring some minor surface loss, particularly towards the tip. The awl is rectangular in section at its thickest section c. 27mm away from the point. From this point the awl tapers to a rounded point at one end and tapers to a flattened point at the other. An incomplete cast copper alloy, iron, and enamel plate brooch of Roman date (c. 80-250 AD). Of Mackreth’s (2011) British Plate type, subtype 2.e (Triskele), cf. no. 10688, Vol 1, pg. 157. The object is incomplete, missing most of the enamel and catch plate, some of the edge, and the pin. The object is flat and sub circular in plan, with a maximum plate thickness of 2mm. Fragment of copper alloy sheet, openwork decorative mount. The curvilinear mount it broken across its two rebated fixing holes and its other extreme. The upper surface of the mount is decorated with an incised design consisting of three infilled three-sided curvilinear panels. Dimensions 35.1 x 25.8 x 1.5mm weighing 4.9g. The two fixing holes (diameter c.2.5mm) are surrounded by circular rebatements (diameter c.7mm) which accommodated the heads of the fixing studs or rivets. Bronze developed flat axe (or flanged axe), probably of Type Glenalla (following Schmidt and Burgess 1981) or Class 4 (following Needham 1983; forthcoming) and dating to the Early Bronze Age, Period 3 (1950-1750 BC) (Needham 1996).
