The roman coin, Q-Radiate, is of Allectus In Britain (AD 293-6) (Reece Period 14), (VIRTVS AVG), Galley left with mast, cabin and unclear crew; no waves. RIC V, pt 2, p. 569, cf. no. 128. This coin has been considered for Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC.
The strap-end is of simple, sheet copper alloy folded type with irregular sides (maximum width 11.2mm). There are the remnants of the attachment rivet (3mm diameter) near the attachment end on both faces (now3.3mm thick). If either of the faces were decorated none …
