A near-complete, distorted copper alloy Colchester Derivative Polden Hill (CD PH) type brooch of Roman date (c. 75-175AD). The brooch belongs to Mackreth’s CD PH Type 5.b3. The mount is fishtail in plan and the surface is decorated with concentric recessed cells likely to accommodate rhinestones.
