A fragment of copper alloy and enamel zoomorphic vessel mount of probable late Iron Age to early Roman date (c. 50 BC to 100 AD). The object is zoomorphic, cast in the form of the stylised head of a beast with the lower jaw cut away in order to fit onto a vessel rim. The head is 21.3mm long, 12.1mm thick and 12.3mm wide, with an 8.4mm long snout with a flared, flat tip similar to a pig or boar. The lower 6.8mm of the jaw is cut out to a dept of c. 3.2mm. An incomplete cast copper alloy vessel mount, possibly a bucket escutcheon of (probably later) Iron Age to early Roman date (c. 150 BC-AD 100). The object is incomplete, missing part of the left attachment lobe and an uncertain length of the hooked rear projection. The integrally cast object has a broadly trilobed form in plan, with two symmetrical comma-shaped perforated attachment lobes at the base (the left lobe is incomplete) and a larger upper lobe forming a suspension loop (maximum internal diameter 8.mm). A fragmentary Post Medieval ceramic sherd from a vessel base, probably a handled cup/mug (‘tyg’) or jar, of 17th century AD date. The fragment is black glazed red ‘Cistercian’ ware with a surviving height of 21.0mm and width of 33.7mm. A sharp fragment is adhered to the inside surface of the base indicating an explosion in the kiln or misfire likely damaged this vessel beyond repair. The fragment has a smooth black glaze with a reddish fabric and weighs 8.85g. A similar fragment can be seen Gloucester pottery fabric type series (potsherd.net)

A fragmentary cast copper alloy fragment, possibly of Late Medieval date (c.15th-16th century AD). The fragment is a piece of a rim from a large cauldron measuring 11.6mm long x 7.9mm wide x 27.4mm-25.4mm thick. The rim has a very slightly expanded lip on the inside surface before tapering slightly to the edge and the outer surface is flat with no traces of decoration surviving. Two rivets hold a sheet of copper alloy in place (surviving length 27.1mm, max surviving width 15.6mm) likely repairing a crack on the inside surface of the cauldron. A leg fragment from a large cast copper alloy vessel, probably a cauldron, posnet or skillet likely of 16th century date, but potentially of late Medieval to Post Medieval date (c. 1300-1700 AD).  The fragment is incomplete, with the end of the leg missing and the upper portion ending in a break where it joined the body of the vessel. The leg has a surviving length of 93.6mm, width of 60.3mm, and thickness of 28mm, and weighs 293.6g. Two fragments of Pewter or copper alloy- one possible vessel rim. Little diagnostic but maybe a medieval or post medieval vessel. A fragment 46.4mm long, 19.8mmwide and a maximum of 1.5mm thick, weighs 5.07g. The fragment has a channel beaten in lengthways with flanking ridges. A cast copper alloy vessel fragment of Medieval or Post Medieval date. The fragment is comprises the foot of a pot leg, likely from a cooking vessel (35.1mm long, 55.8mm wide at the bottom of foot, 41.4mm wide at the break, max depth 25.1mm). The foot is sub-trapezoidal in section with traces of a raised central ridge just before the break. A fragmentary cast copper alloy vessel handle from a pot or skillet, likely of Post Medieval date. The handle is cylindrical, circular in plan and measures 98.7mm in length. The handle is thickest at the end with a max diameter of 19.1mm. The end of the handle is smooth and flat with no evidence of percussion marks.
