Object type: VESSEL
Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: Swansea
Workflow stage: Published Find published
Crudely cast, slightly waisted, copper alloy vessel leg. Length 41mm, width 28-33mm, thickness 18mm, weight 77.4 grams. Identifying the vessel type that this leg is from is not possible. Presumably it was either a cauldron, skillet, jug or ewer. Close dating is equally difficult as the form of the legs like this did not change from the medieval period until the seventeenth century (Read 1995, 95).

Wall fragment of a cast copper alloy vessel with horizontal ridge. Unfortunately, the fragment is not large enough to determine the original form of the vessel with certainty but it is possibly from a tripod cauldron or skillet. Dimensions 64mm x 51mm, thickness 2.5mm, weight 34.1 grams. Medieval or Post-medieval in date.
