Late medieval to post medieval copper alloy cooking vessel fragment, probably from a cauldron or skillet of 15th to 18th century date
The vessel comprises a rim fragment from the vessel (59.3mm long, 30.2mm wide and 2.2mm thick). The rim was outcurved and suggests a vessel diameter of approximately 250mm. Sheet copper alloy plate (0.7mm thick) was secondarily riveted to the rim and is crudely worked. The plate is folded around vessel rim and attached using two copper alloy rivets (10.8mm long).
