Cast copper alloy ewer or laver spout of late Medieval date, probably dating from the 15-16th centuries. The spout is shaped in the form of a duck's head. Many ewer spouts are in the form of dog's heads such as the example recovered from Cardiff Castle (Lewis 1991, 4, fig. 8A), although duck head spouts have been recorded. The duck eyes are defined by an incised circular ring, the bill is open with a protruding short barrel emerging from the animal's mouth. The top of the animal's head is decorated with short incised lines at the centre and above the brows.

Post medieval lead vessel probably of 17th or 18th century The vessel is near-complete with some peripheral damage and is of D-shaped form (with a weight of 210.5g). The mouth (60.7mm wide and 35.9mm long) has a stepped moulding (with a depth of 7.3mm - 13.9mm and 5mm thick) on the curved part only. One of the corners is higher (giving a maximum overall height of 34.5mm) and has a spout-like form. The interior of the vessel is uneven (28mm deep). Probable Roman copper alloy jug lid of 1st to 4th century AD date The cast lid is fragmentary and with only a very short length of original edge surviving (with a surviving length of 36.7mm, a surviving width of 32.4mm and a weight of 16.0g). The plate lid is thinnest around the edge (with a thickness of 1.3mm) and has a cast raised circular boss (of 22.3mm diameter, where the lid has a thickness of 3.0mm – 3.5mm). Roman copper alloy vessel handle from a jug, probably of 1st to 3rd century AD date The handle is fragmentary, missing the handle grip (with a surviving length of 37.0mm and a weight of 18.2g). The handle was originally fitted with a lid, hinged between twin open lugs on the upper part of the handle, now damaged (with a width of 11.1mm, an opening 4mm wide and a height of 7.2mm). An incomplete Medieval or Post Medieval vessel fragment consisting of part of the leg and foot, probably from a cauldron or skillet (c.AD 1200-1700). The leg is rectangular in plan and trapezoidal in section with the front surface of the leg wider and narrowing at the back. The leg is concave starting at a break from old damage (36.1mm x 11.7mm) and curving outwards, widening slightly at the foot (44.1mm x 24.1mm). An incomplete cast copper alloy vessel foot of Roman date. The object is crudely pelta shaped, with a central triangular projection and flanking lobes on one edge, the other being convex. The object is covered by soil, with areas of corrosion disrupting the dark green patinated surface. One end of the object is broken, leading to a reduced length. Pelta shaped vessel feet are well documented, with many examples recorded on the PAS database (e.g. PUBLIC-749A73 and ESS-8C8A14), and excavated from Roman contexts such as in Caerleon (Brewer, 1986, pg. 173).
