Roman copper alloy finger ring, probably of 2nd or 3rd century AD date The finger ring is complete, except for the missing setting. The hoop has an internal diameter of 14.1mm and is comparatively small, perhaps suggesting the ring was worn on the distal parts of the fingers or was a child's ring. The hoop is of D-shaped section with a thickness of near the base of 1.40mm. The hoop widens near the shoulders and expands to form linear moulded decoration on each side of the bezel. A small fragment of a gilt copper alloy brooch, probably of Early Medieval date, probably Anglo Saxon. Unfortunately not enough of the brooch survives to determine the type or date, the brooch is represented by a head fragment only. The rear of the brooch has twin lugs 8mm apart. The front carries incised decoration. Three concentric circles were positioned around a central aperture. Above the engraved circles are two facing arcs, which have a linear incised line at the apex.
