While this weight does not correspond very closely to standardised weights, the decoration has some similarities with a larger lead weight found in London (Egan, 1998, No. 1008, pp314, fig. 235) in a late 14th century context.

A cast copper alloy Postmedieval trade weight of 17th century date (AD 1625-1685). The weight is circular in plan with a diameter of 25.1mm and thickness of 4.4mm. The face of the weight has three stamps: 1. a crowned letter C for Charles I or II; 2. a sword for the Sword of St. Paul for the city of London Guildhall, and 3; a ewer for the London Founder’s Company (Worshipful Company of Founders). The object weighs 11g which equals to 0.388 ounces. Similar objects are recorded on the PAS database e.g. NMGW-C94C43, LEIC-6E91AC, LEIC-44EFEE

A cast lead weight of uncertain date, but likely Medieval to Post Medieval (c. AD 1400-1700). The weight is square and measures 32.5mm x 31.7mm and 11.7m max thickness. One face has been incised with a crude linear design in the shape of the letter W. Similar objects on the PAS database are recorded as apothecary weights, e.g. SUR-D85EA7 and SUSS-3FB2B7, which are also designed with the letter W. The weight weighs 87.44g, which is close to the ¼ lb Tower system (87.5g) or English troy system (93.3g).

Perforated stone weight of uncertain date possibly medieval The weight is of irregular rectangular form (93.9mm long, 66.6mm wide and weighing 150.5g), of variable thickness (with a maximum thickness of 19.5mm) and is made from a coarse-grained sandstone. The top edge and one of the side edges appear to be moderately rounded and are likely to be unmodified, while the other two edges are irregular and probably trimmed to the desired shape. Lead steelyard weight of uncertain date, possibly Roman The weight is of sub-spherical, globular form, with a maximum girth just below the apex (with a length of 41.8mm and a maximum diameter of 39.1mm). The weight currently weighs 320.4g which is reasonably consistent (within 97%) of a Roman libra (pound), equivalent to 327.5g. The corroded remains at the apex are likely to be remnants of the iron loop there is also a smaller iron corrosion stain near the base but off centre.
