Post Medieval copper alloy asymmetrical buckle, probably of 17th century date The buckle is concave in profile with one rounded and one straight edge. The buckle frame has a length of 25.73mm, a width of 20.40mm and a depth of 6.99mm. The buckle employed a chape, wrapped around the integral bar with a slot to take the pin Iron corrosion around the slot suggests an iron pin. The terminal of the chape has been lost. The outside edges of the buckle are likely to have carried moulded decoration now lost. The buckle has a pale green surface and weighs 5.2g.

Part of a cast copper alloy, single loop buckle with a sub-triangular frame and a narrowed offset strap-bar. The strap-bar is now missing. The missing strap-bar would have accommodated the buckle's pin and possibly also a sheet metal buckle plate. A groove on the front of the buckle's frame shows where the pin rested; this feature is probably the result of wear rather than a deliberately cast notch. The buckle is also slightly distorted. Cast copper alloy single loop D-shaped buckle with a frame embellished with an ornate outer edge, and a narrowed and offset strap bar. The outer edge of the frame has a notched lip flanked on either side by a pair of transverse knops. Egan and Pritchard have published a close parallel, recovered from excavations in London, which dates to c.AD1350 to c. AD 1400 (1991, 73, no.297). A broadly comparable date for the St Nicholas buckle is not unreasonable.

This item could have been utilised as either a buckle or a brooch. It is constructed of an annular frame with a decorative projection on the opposite end of the frame to the pin constriction. The frame has a flattened D-shaped cross-section and is generally wider and thicker at the pin constriction and at the projection. The decorative projection is lozenge-shaped and consists of V-shaped moulding before a centrally faceted terminal, and may represent a crude animal head or possibly a flower, elsewhere the frame is plain. Copper alloy decorative mount with a zoomorphic design. The raised design is contained within a rectangular border and depicts a bird with rear facing ribbed wings and head facing upwards. The cells between the design originally carried red enamel, small traces of which survive and can be seen with the aid of a microscope. The mount was originally rectangular in shape with at least two of the corners carrying bronze rivets, one of which survives. The sides have corroded and little of the original surface survives.

Cast copper alloy buckle with an asymmetrical double loop frame, probably dating to the from the 16th to 18th century. The buckle incorporates an oval frame on one side with a rectangular frame the other. The oval side has a D shaped cross section with knops on the outside edge of the frame, and is otherwise plain. The rectangular side, including the bar has a rectangular or trapezoidal cross section and a series of decorative chevron moulding on the outside edge of the frame. The buckle was originally tinned or silvered.
