Fragment of copper alloy sheet, openwork decorative mount. The curvilinear mount it broken across its two rebated fixing holes and its other extreme. The upper surface of the mount is decorated with an incised design consisting of three infilled three-sided curvilinear panels. Dimensions 35.1 x 25.8 x 1.5mm weighing 4.9g. The two fixing holes (diameter c.2.5mm) are surrounded by circular rebatements (diameter c.7mm) which accommodated the heads of the fixing studs or rivets. An Iron Age copper alloy decorative mount, probably of mid to late 1st century AD date. The perforated copper alloy mount or escutcheon is probably from a vessel. The mount is likely to be complete with a length of 23.05mm, a width of 15.89mm and a depth of 21.45mm. The sides of the mount are flat and converge towards the ‘beaked’ end. A near-complete cast copper alloy zoomorphic mount in the design of an ox-head, probably a vessel escutcheon, of late Iron Age to early Roman date (c.100 BCAD 100). The object is near-complete and comprises of a single plate (max 1.2mm thick) bent into a U-shape with integrally cast rounded plates (0.6mm thick) to accommodate a rivet, which remains in situ (surviving overall dimensions 10.0mm x 9.1mm x 12.4mm deep).
