Incomplete cast small buckle with an integral plate, which has broken across a rivet hole. The buckle has a hole to house the missing pin. The sides of the frame are chamfered, while the outside edge is flat and expanded. There are two decorative projections either side of the plate. The surface has corroded.

Post Medieval copper alloy buckle of 17th century date The buckle is of rectangular double-framed form and is complete (less the pin), but has broken with a length of 47.3mm and a width of 31.21mm. Both outer edges and the central area, above the bar, are decorated with trefoil knops. The buckle weighs 6.8g and has poor surface preservation with a mid-green patina.

Copper alloy decorative mount with a zoomorphic design. The raised design is contained within a rectangular border and depicts a bird with rear facing ribbed wings and head facing upwards. The cells between the design originally carried red enamel, small traces of which survive and can be seen with the aid of a microscope. The mount was originally rectangular in shape with at least two of the corners carrying bronze rivets, one of which survives. The sides have corroded and little of the original surface survives.

Gilded buckle comprising of a trapezoidal frame with folded sheet plate of Medieval date, possibly 14th century. The outside edge of the frame is ‘V’ shaped and extends slightly beyond the frame sides and is also more substantial than the rest of the frame. There is a low notch for the now missing pin, which was of iron. The folded sheet plate is rectangular with a rounded inside edge of the plate. The rectangular side, including the bar has a rectangular or trapezoidal cross section and a series of decorative chevron moulding on the outside edge of the frame.
