Cast copper alloy square weight. Both sides stamped with the same design: two Maltese-like crosses, one in the top left and the other in the top right corner, and a central, Roman capital, letter 'C'. Dimensions 19mmx19mmx11mm, weight 27.85 grams. The weight does not closely resemble any of the known British coin weights and was probably used for a purpose other than checking coins. Its current weight is just under an ounce. It is probably post-medieval in date.
