Decorative gold ring with a projecting facetted rectangular bezel, set with a small uncut (cabochon) purple stone, probably rose quartz. There is a small transverse ridge on each side of the bezel at the junction with the hoop, decorated with transverse engraved lines. The underside of the bezel has buckled. Description Decorative gold ring with a projecting oval bezel of floriate form with 11 'petals', set with a small uncut (cabochon) almandine garnet. Each petal is engraved with a central dot. Description of object: Gold finger-ring with a D-shaped cross-section. Externally undecorated, the flat inner face is engraved in Gothic textura (black-letter) script. The engraving appears inexpert (or corrected) in the centre, and so the reading is not clear. All interpretations agree on the first letter as i and the last two as lt. It seems most likely that it is in English and is to be read leelt, 'loyalty' (leelte is an attested Middle English spelling). The oval bezel of a Roman copper alloy finger ring with remains of a blue glass setting (intaglio), 13 by 9 mm. No meaningful trace of a design can be seen and the ring may well have been burnt at some point. Glass settings with an impressed design were a cheaper alternative to the individually carved stone intaglios. Rings of this type are difficult to date but they appear to have been most common in the third century, with little, or no, evidence for their use before the latter part of the second century (Henig 1974, 35).

Post medieval copper alloy finger-ring, probably of 16th or 17th century date The finger-ring is complete but distorted, now oval (24.1mm x 16.2mm and with a weight of 2.3g). The band is flat-sectioned with a consistent width (of 5.1mm and a thickness of 1.1mm). The deeply-stamped geometric decoration is divided into seven repeating panels but of uncertain interpretation. In the interior of the hoop is undecorated. The surface has been stripped with a dark-brown corrosion and traces of gilding surviving the recessed decoration.

The finger-ring is a silver gilt decorative ring, complete. It has a rectangular bezel with a median ridge (creating two facets), which continues onto the shoulders of the hoop. The bezel is engraved with hatched dashes in a crude zig-zag pattern, either side of the ridge.
