A complete silver mount, strap fitting or dress fastener of probable late Medieval to Post Medieval date. The object consists of an integral flat plate broadly oval in plan, divided into two asymmetrical halves; the larger (14.2mm wide, 6.5mm long, 1.7mm thick) half is decorated on its obverse face by three lobes radiating from the centre of the half’s lower edge. The lobes’ rounded edges form the outer edge of the half and are defined by two incised grooves running to the outer edge. The lobes have concave faces, especially the central lobe.
