A near-complete cast lead weight of probable Medieval date (c.AD 1350-1500). The weight is triangular in plan and rectangular in section (68.9mm long x 53.8mm wide at the base x 18.2mm thick) with a rectangular perforation/slot that is bigger on one side, probably the reverse (7.6mm long x 3.4mm tall) and is a narrow slit on the other, probably the face. The face is decorated with a moulded border stepped down from the flat surface of the face and defined by a deep groove along the inside edge. Lead, or lead alloy, circular, non-heraldic personal seal matrix. The design of the seal consists of a legend around the outer edge of the matrix, separated from the central cross design by a circumscribing line. The matrix is incomplete and partially distorted. No evidence for a ridge or loop on the back of the matrix survives. An impression of the matrix is held by the National Museums & Galleries of Wales.
