The two silver items are both fragmentary: Fragment 1: a small rectangular piece of hack-silver, cut from a silver vessel. All four edges have been cut, and there is a hesitant transverse cut running inside one of the longer edges. Both faces of the silver are plain, and the fragment is flat. Maximum length 14mm x width 9.1mm x thickness 2.6mm. Weight 2.27g. Fragment 2: small 'pie-slice' fragment from a circular lid or vessel rim, with a plain bevelled edge. Treasure 2008. Wales : 08.21 The strap-end is in the form of a moulded rod, expanding slightly to form a bifurcated shank. It is broken across the hole for the rivet that would have secured it to the end of a leather strap. Functionally strap-ends existed to reinforce the free ends of leather belts and straps, such as the end of a belt opposite from the buckle, and in some instances to provide some extra weight to help the strap or belt-end hang properly. Late Roman silver spoon, probably of 3rd or 4th century AD date. The spoon has a distorted handle and is missing the majority of the bowl, giving the spoon a surviving length of 68mm. The handle was originally approximately 50mm long and is of circular section, becoming oval and wider as it approaches the bowl. The end of the handle was pointed. Description of the find Small silver object consisting of a small circular bowl on a long slender shaft that tapers to a point. The bowl is now at virtually a right angle to the shaft and the shaft is bent again about two-thirds along its length, but originally all would probably have been aligned. Silver finger-ring of keeled form with triangular shoulders, which form the upper part of the hoop, projecting at an angle to the bezel. The circular bezel is plain and does not contain a setting; the shoulders are decorated with delicate linear moulding. The lower part of the hoop is plano-convex in section. The ring is worn, possibly as a result of cleaning. External diameter 21-23mm; internal diameter 14-18mm; weight 4.51grams. An example of Henig's Type VIII (1978, 38-39, fig.1) and Taylor and Scarisbrick's Type 33 (1978, 26, 39). Third or fourth century AD.

Circumstances of discovery and reporting A ceramic pot containing 2733 Roman silver and copper alloy coins was discovered by David Henry Moss and Tom Taylor on 22nd December 2018 in Caerhun Community, Conwy.  The hoard was found while metal detecting on cultivated land that was under pasture at the time. The top of the pot was discovered at a depth of about 30cm below the surface of the field, at the top of a slight mound.
