A copper alloy strap slide of post medieval date (c. 1650-1800). The object is roughly circular in plan, with a slightly convex front face, c.2mm thick. Two flattened-oval sectioned lugs project from opposite ends of the reverse face, each is covered by iron corrosion product, presumably from iron rivets or inserts to the lugs. Incised curved lines radiating from a central circle decorate the front face of the object. There is some suggestion of finer decoration between the radiating lines, but the loss of the original surface to corrosion obscures any further definition. The object i…

The edge of the bezel is decorated by a line of triangles running round its bottom edge and the back by an engraved floral pattern. The hoop has an internal diameter of 19mm; external diameter of 21.6mm; band width 5.7mm; band thickness of 0.9mm; weight 6.41g. The finger ring from Llangunllo has a form which is hard to date, existing in the fifteenth century, and continuing up to the present.
