Post medieval copper alloy sword belt fitting of 16th to 17th century date The fitting is near-complete, missing one terminal (with a surviving length of 66.8mm, an overall height of 43mm and a weight of 27.1g). The plate mount (2.5mm thick) has trefoil terminals with a perforation at the centre (3.0mm diameter). The damaged end has broken through the perforation. The mount is decorated on its face with moulded vegetal scrolls. Post medieval copper alloy spoon, probably of 17th century date The spoon is fragmentary and damaged, missing the end of the handle (with a surviving length of 116.2mm and a weight of 32.6g). The bowl is of fig-shape (69mm long, 49.9mm wide, 9mm deep and 0.7mm thick) and is crushed. There is a maker’s mark within a segmented or beaded punched annulet on the bowl beneath the handle. Silver gilt posy-ring. The hoop is of flattened D cross-section. The outer surface is plain, and very worn (having lost its original gilding). The gilding is well preserved inside the hoop. The inner face of the hoop is inscribed with the text Keep faith ˖ tell death, in italic script. Internal hoop diameter 19 mm; band width 5.5mm; band thickness 1.3mm; weight 3.45g.
