Substantial cast copper alloy leg from a cauldron or skillet. The front of the leg has an expanded foot and a prominent central rib. The rear of the leg is plain with tapered edges. The fragment appears broken at both ends, with the base of the foot absent as well as the body of the vessel. The leg is covered in a black carbon deposit, as wood be expected in a cooking vessel.

Copper alloy escutcheon or pendant probably of medieval date The delicate fitting appears to be near-complete (with a length of 24.6mm and a weight of 1.0g) and was suspended by an integral loop (8.4mm long, 2.9mm wide and 4.2mm deep), which has been coiled inwards to form the loop and projects to the front. A complete copper alloy Medieval thimble/sewing ring dating to c. AD 1270-1350. The object is made of a thin sheet 0.8mm thick, classed as a ‘soldered sheet ring’ (Egan and Pritchard 2002: 265-266). The sheet has come apart at the seam and the damage appears old. The thimble has an open top, is roughly circular in plan and has a distorted slightly conical in profile. Irregular drilled pits in parallel concentric columns with approximately 12 pits per column cover the surface of the thimble. An upper border measuring 1.12mm and base border measuring 0.5mm enclose the drilled pits. …

An incomplete stone rod, possibly a stylus, of Medieval or Post Medieval date (c. AD 1200-1800). The rod is roughly cylindrical in shape with two flatter sides and tapers to a rounded point. One end appears broken and is sub-rectangular in cross-section. The opposite, tapered end appears to have a incised line which likely spanned the circumference, but detail is lost to wear. Stone styli were used from the 12th to early 19th century, often used with wax. The object is 27mm in length, 5.3mm wide and weighs 1.36g. Cast front plate of a crescentic strap end or belt chape of Late Medieval date possibly dating from the first half of the 15th century. The sub triangular terminal is decorated in low relief to resemble a bush or tree. The engraved lines within the circular body section represent the roots of the tree. The strap end was attached to the missing underplate by means of solder and four rivets, two in the crescent (now missing) and two near the terminal (still present).

Recorded at the Hidden Treasure Finds Day at National Museums & Galleries of Wales. Cast copper alloy strap-end, probably of Late Medieval or Post Medieval date. The strap-end is one-piece with a circular attachment panel and slotted terminal. The strap-end was attached by three rivets positioned around the attachment edge. The terminal has concave sides and ends in point. The strap-end gradually thins to the terminal. The rectangular slot in the terminal may have been used to engage a suspended fitting or similar.

Cast Medieval copper alloy one piece strap end, probably of late 14th – 15th century date. The strap end is of rectangular section and thins slightly towards the outside edge. The closed end is composed of a waisted concave bar before a damaged edge, which probably led to a decorative terminal. A complete copper alloy spur rowel of either medieval, or more likely post medieval, date (c. AD 1200-1800). The object is star-shaped with seven points, each flat in section. Both faces are flat and undecorated. An iron bar perforates the centre of the rowel. The arms are relatively regular in width with some variation in height, and taper to a point. Two of the arms are more worn at the tip and bent slightly inwards suggesting they may have come into contact with the horse more than the other arms. Medieval lead seal matrix. The matrix has a pointed oval shape and unusually, is flat with no lug or rib on the reverse. Presumably the matrix was either set within a frame or had a soldered lug on the reverse, which has now been lost. The face is in good condition and the inscription implies it is a personal seal. The inscription reads: +S’IOH DE FELDMVL’ Seal of Joh(n) of Feldmul… At the centre of the die is another pointed oval containing a wheat-sheaf motif with its mirror image beneath.

Complete seal matrix in excellent condition. The seal matrix is flat with a raised rib running along the reverse incorporating a pierced lug at its apex. The matrix is a pointed oval shape and is the personal seal of a cleric of 13th or 14th century date. The central motif depicts the Virgin Mary with child, flanked by two candlesticks above a praying cleric. The surrounding legend reads:

The carries an inscription in Lombardic capitals reading: + T I M E T E D E V M . ‘Fear God’. The central motif appears to depict a bird with a long beak above a crescent.

Medieval lead personal seal matrix, probably of 14th century date. The matrix is flat and circular and had a pierced lug on the reverse, now broken. Beneath the lug is a central raised rib, flanked by two U-shaped tendrils, forming a fleur-de-lis motif. The seal die has some damage, and much of the edge has been lost. The central device on the die depicts an eight petalled flower with rounded ends. The surrounding inscription is difficult to discern, but may read: * S' WALT' FIL ...PEITH (?)
