Late medieval copper alloy candlestick, probably of 15th or 16th century date
The candlestick is distorted and fragmentary, missing both the socket and separate base (with a surviving, distorted length of 166mm and a weight of 107.4g). The candlestick was of composite form with a circular sectioned plug (12.9mm diameter and 10.8mm long) to fit into the base. Above the base-plug is a flanged moulding (16.4mm diameter), with a bevel to the shaft at its top.
