A complete Medieval copper alloy buckle, dating from c. AD 1250 to 1400. The buckle frame is circular in plan and measures 41.69mm in diameter. In cross section, the frame is oval and has no constriction for the pin, it measures 4.78mm wide and 4.22mm deep. The pin is oval in cross section and has an open loop attaching it to the frame. It is 46.31mm long and 4.75mm wide, narrowing to 3.71mm, and ending in a blunt point. The buckle has a grey patina with areas of blackening and pale copper-green corrosion.

A fragment of copper alloy folded sheet buckle plate of medieval date (c. 1350-1450 AD). The buckle plate consists only of a fragment of c. 1mm thick sheet, broken where it wraps around the pin, ending in a break 22mm away from the outside edge of the plate diagonally across the plate. The plate would have been rectangular, and the sides are parallel. Central to the outside edge of the plate is a 3.4mm wide slot for the pin. An incomplete cast copper alloy buckle of medieval date (likely 14th century AD).The buckle consists only of a small rectangular frame with a narrowed bar and two grooves flanking the notch for the pin on the expanded outside edge. There is no evidence of a plate and the pin is missing. The frame is slightly trapezoidal, but with somewhat convex top and bottom edges. The top and bottom edges have a small ridge at each corner, which is typical of 14th century buckles. The object bears a dark patina, with small areas of the original green patinated surface.

The surface shows some corrosion and is broken at the integral bar; therefore, it is missing one of its loops. Presumably the buckle was originally circular or near-circular. The pin is still extant, consisting of a pointed strip bent around the bar. It measures 18.08mm in length and 12.32mm in width; and is 1.62 grams in weight.
