A near complete cast copper alloy and enamel Medieval harness pendant dating from 1200 to 1400 AD.
The harness pendant is shield-shaped with an integrally cast loop; the front is decorated in relief blue enamel depicting a unicorn rampant. The suspension loop is 8.5mm long with a loop hole (2.6mm in diameter) which is set 90 degrees from the shield. The suspension loop is positioned at the top center of the shield. The cast pendant is of two-piece form, comprising a quatrefoil frame with an inner cross pendant and is missing the top of the loop (with a surviving overall length of 57.8mm and weight of 15.4g). An incomplete cast copper alloy harness pendant of Medieval date (c. 1200- 1400 AD). The pendant is convex (with a concave reverse) and roughly discoidal with a 13.3mm long integral perforated attachment plate projecting from the top of the pendant. The original surface of the pendant is largely missing, and the surface of the whole is badly corroded. No trace of decoration can be seen but it may have originally been gilded. No. 23, pg. 23 in Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum Medieval Catalogue: Part 1 (Saunders,1991) is a similar example.

The front of the pendant depicts a moulded figure facing forward, probably seated, wearing a belt and holding a long object with a round terminal, probably a scepter. The figure is likely a king.
