Post medieval copper alloy bridle fitting, snaffle bit of later 16th to 18th century date
The bit is curved and is incomplete, missing part of the loop on each side (with a surviving length of 92.2mm and a weight of 71.6g). The bit has a larger loop on one end (with external diameter of 22.3mm and internal diameter 0f 10.0mm). The bar is of square section (11.5mm narrowing to 9.5mm) with a decorative 180ยบ twist and narrows to a smaller loop (with external diameter of 9mm and internal diameter 0f 12mm).
