A copper alloy Medieval sheet buckle plate of late 12th to 13th century date. The object is broken in half at the fold with only one plate surviving. The buckle plate is rectangular (17.8mm long x 16.5mm wide x 2mm thick) folded sheet plate with a slot cut for the pin and recessed from the frame on outer edges. The front depicts a zoomorphic figure. The back is plain and undecorated. The end of the plate is perforated by two rivet holes 1mm in diameter. An incomplete cast copper alloy button brooch of early early-medieval date (c. AD 480-550). The brooch is circular in plan and slightly trapezoidal in cross-section with an upturned rim angled slightly outwards. The brooch face is set within the rim and depicts a highly stylised anthropomorphic mask with a pellet border. The eyebrows rise from the straight nose (6mm long) and curve in sweeping arches to extend just below the eyes, which are each single small round pellets. A complete cast copper alloy bell of Medieval or Post Medieval date. The bell is spherical, with a slot terminating in roughly heart shaped sound holes. The top roughly formed and damaged loop was cast integrally with the bell with an aperture into the bell in its base. A copper alloy penannular ring or ring core of probable Bronze Age date (c. 1300-800BC). The ring is made from a circular sectioned loop. The original surface is missing, and green and brown copper corrosion products cover the ring. The blue corrosion product is likely azurite. Objects such as this are often termed “ring money” or “hair rings” but are most likely a form of personal adornment worn on the nose or ears.
