The back-plate (with a length of 62.8mm, a maximum width of 24.6mm and a thickness of 1.9mm) has a trefoil terminal at the top with a knop at the apex and is rounded at its base with concave sides. Roman copper alloy bow brooch of T-shaped type and of 1st or 2nd century AD date The brooch is incomplete and slightly distorted, missing the foot, catch and pin (with a surviving length of 48.3mm, a surviving depth of 11.9mm and a weight of 10.3g). The missing pin was hinged within tubular wings (with a width of 35.0mm and a diameter of 4.8mm). The ends of the wings are decorated with a vertical groove, enhanced with punched marks.
