An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill CD PH 4.i1 type (c.AD 120-240). The brooch consists of the head with wings and bow, with an overall surviving length of 50.8mm. The spring, pin, catch-plate and most of the foot are missing in old damage. The semi-cylindrical wings are mostly complete with a total width of 21.5mm (diameter 6.4mm). The wing terminals are slightly damaged but traces of a raised stop-ridge preserve at either end (likely would have been similar to a near-parallel brooch illustrated in Hattatt 2000: 300 fig.150 no.380). A fragment of cast copper alloy object, probably a terret, dating from the Middle Iron Age to Early Roman Periods (c. 250BC to 200 AD). The object consists only of a short section of metal, heavily worn and ending in breaks at both ends. This makes precise typological study and dating difficult. The object consists of a curved length of moulded copper alloy, with two sections separated by an expanded moulding. A Post Medieval copper alloy trade weight of Charles I or II (1625-1649 or 1660-1685). The weight is discoidal, its upper side is concave, has a raised rim, and a central circular indentation which is 12.8mm in diameter.
