An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman folding knife handle. The object is executed in openwork zoomorphic style, depicting a hare and a hound in mid chase with the hound’s snout in contact with the hare’s tail, both running towards the end of the handle. Mouldings are used to suggest body features of each animal such as the ears, snouts and tails as well as a collar on the hound. The base of the knife bears a central slot into which the blade would have folded. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman button and loop fastener of Wild (1970), Class III, c. AD 50-200. The head is pointed oval in shape with a central domed circular boss surrounded by a circumferential groove. The head is 19.2mm long and 13.9mm wide. The oval head has two moulded pointed terminals, one is damaged and appears less pointed- unusually for this type of fastener the most pointed terminal is facing in the same direction as the loop. A complete cast copper alloy Middle Iron Age brooch dating to c.400-275 BC. The brooch is a La Tène type 1 brooch and is cast as one piece consisting of a bow, catchplate, head with spring and pin. The head is a unilateral four coiled spring around a separate central axis bar and functions as a hinge mechanism. The pin is integrated with the pin projecting downwards from the inner right-hand side coil, with a length of 34.5mm. The other terminal of the spring develops into the bow.
