Roman copper alloy bow brooch of Wroxeter variant type and 2nd century AD date. The brooch in incomplete, missing the pin, foot and head-plate and with a distorted leg (with a distorted length of 56.3mm, a depth of 22mm and a weight of 17.9g). The missing pin was hinged between semi-tubular lugs on the rear of the head (with a width of 13.7mm). The lugs have considerably adhering iron corrosion, suggesting an iron axis bar and/or pin was employed. Post medieval copper alloy finger-ring, probably of 16th or 17th century date The finger-ring is complete but distorted, now oval (24.1mm x 16.2mm and with a weight of 2.3g). The band is flat-sectioned with a consistent width (of 5.1mm and a thickness of 1.1mm). The deeply-stamped geometric decoration is divided into seven repeating panels but of uncertain interpretation. In the interior of the hoop is undecorated. The surface has been stripped with a dark-brown corrosion and traces of gilding surviving the recessed decoration.
