Decorative gold posy-ring (incomplete). The hoop fragment is of flattened D cross-section. The outer surface is cast with a repeating pattern of circular and diamond-shaped cells, the former having small raised quatrefoils, the latter raised single dots. Raised dots fill the field between the cells and the plain borders. Post medieval copper alloy finger-ring, probably of 16th or 17th century date The finger-ring is complete but distorted, now oval (24.1mm x 16.2mm and with a weight of 2.3g). The band is flat-sectioned with a consistent width (of 5.1mm and a thickness of 1.1mm). The deeply-stamped geometric decoration is divided into seven repeating panels but of uncertain interpretation. In the interior of the hoop is undecorated. The surface has been stripped with a dark-brown corrosion and traces of gilding surviving the recessed decoration.
