Roman copper alloy bow brooch of uncertain type and of 1st or 2nd century AD date The brooch is fragmentary, missing the upper bow and head (with a surviving length of 39.5mm, a depth of 19.8mm and a weight of 5.5g). The brooch has broken near the top of the leg, where it has a D-shaped section and appears to have broken through a transverse groove (5.5mm wide and 2.0mm tick). Roman copper alloy bow brooch of T-shaped type, probably originally enamelled and of 2nd century AD date The cast bow brooch is near-complete, missing the pin but is heavily-corroded (with a length of 48.1mm, a depth of 16.5mm and a weight of 8.1g). The missing spring was hinged within tubular wings of oval section (5.1mm x 3.8mm and 25.2mm wide). Any decoration on the wings has been lost to corrosion. Roman copper alloy bow brooch fragment probably from a Trumpet or Trumpet derivative brooch of 1st or 2nd century AD date. The brooch fragment is from a swivelling chain loop (with a surviving length of 20.3mm and a weight of 1.7g) and comprises the wire chain loop with attached frontal plate of disc form. Roman copper alloy bow brooch of uncertain type. The brooch is fragmentary and is represented by the head and upper bow only, with a surviving length of 17.12mm and weighs 3.g. The brooch employed a copper alloy spring mechanism, probably secured by a Polden Hill type arrangement. The wings are eroded and have a surviving width of 17.99mm. The bow has a width at the head of 8.07mm and is of oval section. No decoration survives on the poorly-preserved surface of the brooch which has recently been coated in a wax.

The spring was secured with a Polden Hill type arrangement and the chord was tensioned by a lug on the head. The wings have a width of 28.82mm.
