The reported object is a complete finger-shaped metal ingot with rounded ends of silvery-grey appearance. The underside and a slightly rounded profile, and two indents may assaying nicks. The upper surface is slightly convex, with a small area of pitting, consistent with the ingot having been cast in an open mould (stone, ceramic or earth). There is further evidence for nicking on the side of the ingot - an interventions sometimes undertaken in antiquity to test purity. Length 47.1mm; width 9.4-12.4mm; depth 6.3 - 9mm; weight: 20.01g. Fragment of silver decorative mount, broken top and bottom. The outline has the superficial resemblance to spoon handle terminals, but the figurative decoration is the wrong way round, and the cast is hollow on the reverse and clearly intended to sit against a flat surface.
