An incomplete clipped, worn and damaged half real coin of Ferdinand V and Isabella I of Spain from the reign of the Reyes Catolicos (1469-1504), Likely issued between 1475 and 1504. The coin is heavily worn, cracked and bent. Uncertain mint, though the mark appears to be an A above a grid, possibly representing a portcullis or a griddle. A possible modified silver coin, of likely Post Medieval date, c. 1500 to 1800. The diameter of the object is similar to that of a three pence coin and suggests that it has possibly been modified for reuse as a token. The object has a smooth surface with punched motifs, including of a bunch of grapes. Obverse: Punched grape motif, letter Y, plus possible A or upside-down Y. Reverse: Punched grape motif, a partial letter A of a different style of lettering to the obverse.
