Small silver seal matrix with an oval face. It is engraved with a motif of crested and plumed bird, walking right and in side profile. it’s the bird’s beak is open, holding a leafed branch which extends over its head and back. The reported object is a flat silver ‘swivel’ fob seal matrix. It is formed of an irregular flat C-shaped frame with a decorated handle and integral suspension loop. A double-sided decorated octagonal bezel rotates within the frame. The handle is decorated on both sides with crude scroll-work engraving. Description:
The reported object is a small post-medieval silver seal matrix (weight 6.92g.). The oval matrix is engraved in Roman capitals: W T 1615, within a rope border. The owner’s initials are surmounted by a six pointed star (some soil remains in engraved design). The handle takes the form of a dolphin whose tail forms a circular loop for a suspension chain of ribbon.
The oval matrix has a single engraved rope border, and measures 13.5mm x 16.08mm. The matrix thickness is 1.9mm. The overall height of the matrix and handle is 27.3mm.

Description
The small oval matrix, in silver, retains the rectangular stub of the now missing handle, which was square in cross-section, on the reverse. The matrix is engraved with a cartouche bearing arms: cross engrailed with ermine in quarters, and scallop shell at cross base. The cartouche has three scrolls, and is flanked by two tapering motifs (staffs?), below small cups (chalices?).
The matrix measures 15.5.x 18.1mm; the handle stem measures 3.5 x 3.5mm; the matrix thickness away from handle is 1.7mm; weight 5.66g.

Post-Medieval silver pedestal type or fob seal matrix.
The face is oval with a tapering fluted handle, crowned with a circular suspension loop. The engraved motif on the face comprises a heart surmounted by a series of radiating rays. The heart is pierced with a single flighted arrow pointing right (left in wax impression). Beneath the heart are a pair of clasped hands with stylised cuffs above a bed of three flowers. The flowers are comprised of five stamped petals and a stem. The motif is set within a beaded border, following the outline of the die face.

The reported object is a small post-medieval seal matrix (weight 5.25g.). The matrix is engraved with a motif of a naked male Eros with cherubic face facing forward, holding bow and arrow, shown with one wing and a quiver extending behind the back. The naked figure stands in a pasture of long vegetation. The handle tapers upwards to a circular loop with transverse perforation with apex knop, above a transverse collar.
The oval matrix has a single engraved beaded border, and measures 14.6mm x 12.4mm. The height of the matrix is 19.2mm.
